Top Tips for smashing your Piñata

Bought a piñata for your special day and want to get maximum enjoyment out of it? Look no further - here is my handy guide for getting that perfect smash!

1. Don’t over stuff your piñata. The key is a perfect balance of filling and confetti with about a handful of sweets per person and a good helping of confetti.

2. Find the perfect hanging spot with plenty of space around. Ideally outside hanging from a tree branch or climbing frame.

3. Stand back. Last thing you want is to get smashed in the face by an over enthusiastic child!

4. Hit that piñata side on. If you hit in a downward motion then you will pull against the hanging cord and end up with a pretty intact pinata on the floor. So sad! To get that insta-perfect piñata explosion you need to hit side on. That way you get weaken the integrity of the piñata slowly, hit by hit.

5. Get a good swing on it. Hitting it side on also gives it a good swing so that once the piñata starts to see some damage then it releases some of its filling, in the most satisfying way, on every hit.
